When will the U of M smoking ban start?
Many of you may be interested to know that the university president has set a target date of July 1, 2011 to begin implementing the no smoking policy. After careful consideration of the desires of many of the university faculty, employees, and students, they’ve determined that the data shows that smoking isn’t wanted on campus.
What areas will the smoking ban effect?
Ann Arbor is really tied in so closely with the campus; the question is, will there still be areas in downtown A2 where smokers can step off campus to inhale a bit of tar. At this point, it’s unclear which direction they’ll take the policy in. They’re considering 14 different recommendations for how to implement smoke free areas, including making parking garages and public walkways, as well as buildings off limits.
